Petrol Scout helps you find UK fuel prices and plan routes to the cheapest stations. These terms cover how you can use the app and what we're responsible for.

What the app does
Petrol Scout displays current UK petrol and diesel prices, helps you find the cheapest stations nearby or along a route, and lets you save favourites. Price data comes from the UK Fuel Finder scheme (Open Government Licence v3.0).
Free trial and subscription
- The app offers a 14-day free trial when you first sign up.
- After the trial, premium features require a paid subscription.
- Pricing: £1.99/month or £14.99/year (prices may vary by region).
- Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID and auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- Manage or cancel via Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions on your iPhone.
Refunds
Refunds are handled by Apple, not us. Request a refund through reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't process refunds directly.
Data accuracy disclaimer
We pull prices from the UK Fuel Finder scheme, which retailers update within 30 minutes of any change at the pump. However:
- Prices shown in the app are indicative only.
- Always confirm the price displayed at the pump before fuelling.
- We cannot be held liable for differences between the price shown in the app and the actual price at the station.
- Station opening hours, amenities, and availability may not be perfectly current.
Your account and use
You agree to:
- Use the app only for personal, non-commercial purposes.
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or redistribute the app or its data feeds.
- Not use the app to mislead or harm others.
- Comply with all applicable UK laws while using the app.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms.
Intellectual property
The Petrol Scout app, branding, and code are owned by Studio Popix. The fuel price data is provided under the Open Government Licence v3.0 and credited accordingly within the app.
You retain rights to anything you submit (such as feedback) but grant us a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use, store, and act on it to improve the app.
Third-party services
The app relies on:
- Mapbox for maps and routing
- RevenueCat for subscription management
- PostHog for anonymous analytics
- Sentry for crash reporting
Each is governed by its own terms. We don't share personally identifying information with any of them — see our Privacy Policy for details.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Studio Popix is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the app, including:
- Decisions made based on inaccurate prices
- Lost time, fuel, or money due to detours
- Service interruptions or data loss
- Issues with third-party services we depend on
Your sole remedy if the app doesn't work for you is to cancel your subscription and stop using it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will trigger an in-app notice before they take effect. Continued use after that notice means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
